About this year's conference
This year's Emergency Management Conference will explore the myriad challenges faced by communities and responsible authorities as disaster events become more frequent and diverse.
The impacts of emergencies do not observe clear geographical or social boundaries and the intensity of emergencies and the types of impacts vary from place to place and between communities and individuals.
They also change over time.
Further, as the frequency of bushfire, flood and storm activity has increased, emergency management functions have begun to overlap.
Resilience building, response, recovery and reconstruction must occur at all levels continually and often simultaneously.
How will we manage emergencies in this context and how can we take care of ourselves and others working in emergency management in the process?
